Fellowships & Scholarships for Pre-Doctoral Candidates

Pre-doctoral candidates are automatically considered for one of several multi-year fellowships, ranging from partial tuition alone to full tuition plus stipend. Awards are based on a combination of merit and need. Some students may be admitted without aid. Doctoral students may also apply for loans in order to meet the cost of attendance. Students may take on teaching fellowships as early as the second year in residence.

Eligibility for research assistantships generally coincides with the development of a close-working relationship with an advisor in a research center, or with faculty who hold independent research grants. Research funds are available from the numerous HKS research centers.

All prospective PhD program applicants should contact Doctoral Program Office for further financial assistance information.
